The Beloved Summer Series Hits an Powerful Conclusion

Heads Up: Spoiler Alert for the finale of The Summer I Turned Pretty

The Binge-Worthy Show, easily the most talked-about TV series of the year, has concluded dramatically after weeks of speculation about how its emotional conflict storyline would conclude.

The show's third and final season focuses on the protagonist and her decision between one brother and his brother and love rival, the intense one.

Many viewers were rooting for Conrad, with passions so intense that the show's team and creator Jenny Han recently urged fans to avoid directing negative comments to the cast members online.

The concluding chapter dropped on this week, and started with one suitor surprising the main character by turning up in the City of Light on the eve her 22nd birthday.

The Winner Takes It All

After a series of events with a few twists and turns in her temporary residence, she reconnects with her former flame and he professes his feelings for her—but she tells him she doesn't know if his emotions are real.

He departs, but she chases after him to reach him—soundtracked by a popular song—and declares her feelings on his departing transport and says she chooses him.

"If there are infinite worlds, all variations of Belly selects you in each scenario," she proclaims.

"Team Conrad wins!" shared one fan on a popular platform with a background music of Abba's The Winner Takes It All.

"I am so happy," wrote another with emotional symbols. "FINALLY FINALLY," declared another.

Elsewhere, back in the summer town, the rejected suitor pairs off with a new love interest and mends fences with his father.

"Everyone finds closure? Apparently!"

Feel-Good Entertainment

Enthusiast a dedicated viewer, young, held a screening gathering in a UK location. She explained to media that she got into the series in lockdown—and is now a superfan.

"It was - and is - a feeling of reassurance, particularly given what's been going on in the world. You won't get shamed for it!" she said.

She hosted the party to raise money for charity—and to connect with others.

"I thought it would be a perfect chance to fundraise and to organize a meeting people would want to meet at. The show is something I deeply love—and I know a lot of people feel the same.

"I was introduced to the series—I'm a similar age to Belly, so it's also a personal link. Season three revolves around her finding herself, so in that sense I can understand her... but I've avoided two brothers in conflict because of me!"

A Major Event

The company has reported that the final season debut attracted 25 million viewers in its debut period, became the most-viewed on the platform in numerous nations, and is its top-performing season among women ages 18-34.

Han, who created the story and helpen pen the conclusion, informed media that she had loved watching people unite to watch the show "as if it were a major event".

She has, nonetheless, warned fans against personal abuse on social media.

"People can forget that you're referencing a role, but you're criticizing the actor behind the role when you're mentioning looks or behavior," she said.

"They are human beings, and just because they're famous doesn't mean that it's not painful to read those things."

Future Possibilities

Han also included a note in the final moments of the conclusion thanking viewers and hinting at more stories.

"Sincere thanks for the love you've shown The Summer I Turned Pretty all these years," she expressed.

"Whether you've been with Belly since the beginning or discovered it through TV I'm so appreciative you've shared in these summer adventures.

"We dedicated ourselves and we're so indebted to our audience for coming along with us for the ride. Could another chapter unfold one summer in the familiar setting.

"With affection and gratitude, the creator."

Fans would embrace a spin-off, with feedback noting: "While the ending was satisfying, fans would love to witness the couple's future—and what happens next not just for them, but for secondary characters as well."
